Year 1 Teaching Assistant - Full Time - Handsworth

Supply Heroes are seeking a passionate and experienced Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding and well-regarded primary school in Handsworth. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2025 and continuing for the full academic year.
You will be supporting the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning, working closely with pupils to ensure they are progressing and engaging with the curriculum. This role requires someone who is proactive, confident, and able to hit the ground running from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Year 1 class teacher with classroom activities and group work
* Working 1:1 or with small groups to support individual needs
* Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment
* Helping with classroom displays and resources
* Managing pupil behaviour effectively
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience working in a Year 1 setting or similar KS1 environment
* A Level 3 TA qualification or equivalent (essential)
* Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills
* The ability to build strong relationships with staff, children and parents
* A calm, nurturing and flexible approach
