The School

A well-established, community-focused primary school in the Brixton area of Lambeth is seeking a confident Year 2 Teacher for the Summer Term 2026.

This is a larger-than-average, two-form entry school with a strong reputation locally. The Role

The appointed Year 2 Teacher will take full class responsibility for the Summer Term, ensuring pupils remain focused and make strong progress through the final part of the academic year.

Key responsibilities include:

Delivering well-structured lessons across the KS1 curriculum

Preparing pupils for end-of-year assessments

Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and learning

Tracking attainment and addressing gaps effectively

Working closely with the parallel Year 2 teacher and KS1 lead

This role requires a Year 2 Teacher who can quickly build relationships, establish routines, and maintain momentum through a key transitional term.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking a Year 2 Teacher who:

Holds QTS and has recent KS1 experience

Has a secure understanding of Year 2 assessment expectations

Is confident teaching phonics, writing moderation, and maths reasoning

Demonstrates strong classroom management

Works well as part of a collaborative team
