Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum and Key Stage 1 expectations.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages academic and personal growth.
Prepare pupils for end-of-Year 2 assessments, using data to track progress and inform planning.
Implement a range of teaching strategies that cater to varying abilities, learning styles, and individual needs.
Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement, promoting positive behaviour through consistent classroom management strategies.
Build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families to support children's learning and wellbeing.
Collaborate with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and subject coordinators to enhance learning opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of pupil attainment and progress, and contribute to written reports and parent consultations.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events, and contribute to the wider school community.
About You:
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (or equivalent).
Recent or relevant experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.
Strong understanding of the Year 2 curriculum, including phonics, early maths mastery, and the KS1 assessment framework.
A creative, reflective, and adaptive approach to teaching and learning.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
