Year 5 Class Teacher – Maternity Cover

Full Time | Easter Start – July 2026 | Option to Extend into September | M2 - M6 Inner London Salary

Teach Now Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a friendly, warm and thriving primary school in Brent in their search for an experienced Year 5 Class Teacher to cover maternity leave from Easter 2026 through to July, with a strong possibility of extension into September.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident KS2 teacher who can step seamlessly into an established class, maintain high standards and ensure excellent progress for all pupils.

About the Class & Role

• Year 5 class of 27 pupils
• Supported by a dedicated full-time Teaching Assistant
The class includes:
• Three pupils with EHCPs
• Additional SEND needs including ASD and ADHD

The successful teacher will:

• Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum
• Differentiate effectively to meet a range of learning needs
• Work closely with the TA to support pupils with SEND
• Maintain a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment
• Build strong relationships quickly and uphold high expectations

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• A qualified primary teacher with QTS
• Experienced in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
• Confident supporting pupils with SEND
• Calm, organised and proactive
• Able to “hit the ground running” and take ownership of the class
• Passionate about inclusive education and pupil progress
