Veritas Education is looking to appoint a committed and confident Year 5 Teacher for a short-term paternity cover role at a welcoming primary school in Lancaster.

The position will run from the beginning of March until the Easter break, making it an ideal opportunity for a strong practitioner seeking a brief but fulfilling teaching assignment.

Role Overview

Deliver high‑quality teaching to a Year 5 class Follow existing planning and ensure continuity for pupils Maintain a positive classroom environment and strong behaviour management Work collaboratively with the school's senior leadership and KS2 team Ensure effective marking and assessment throughout the cover period

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5 Ability to quickly build rapport and maintain classroom standards Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one) Availability from early March until Easter
