Aspire People are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and community-focused primary school in Shrewsbury for an experienced and motivated Year 6 Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis for the remainder of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Key Stage 2 practitioner who is passionate about preparing pupils for SATs and their transition to secondary school.

The Role

As the Year 6 Teacher, you will:

Take full classroom responsibility for a Year 6 class

Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the KS2 curriculum

Prepare pupils for end-of-Key-Stage assessments (SATs)

Track progress and use data effectively to raise attainment

Provide targeted intervention and differentiation, including for pupils with SEN

Support pupils with their transition to secondary education

Work closely with colleagues, parents, and support staff

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6

Has experience preparing pupils for SATs

Has strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements

Has experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Demonstrates excellent classroom management and high expectations

Is organised, resilient, and committed to raising standards
