I’m currently working with a lovely primary school in the Pontefract area, and they’re looking for a passionate, energetic Year One Teacher to join them immediately after the Easter half-term. If you’re someone who genuinely loves helping young learners grow, thrive, and discover their confidence, this could be a brilliant opportunity for you.

About the Role

This is a full-time, long-term role within a warm and welcoming school where staff really look out for one another. You’ll have the chance to properly settle in, build strong relationships, and become an important part of the school community, not just a temporary face.

You’ll be:

• Delivering fun, engaging lessons that spark curiosity
• Supporting progress in phonics, writing, maths and across the whole curriculum
• Creating a nurturing, positive classroom atmosphere
• Working closely with the wider staff team and parents
• Getting involved in school life and contributing to the community feel

What I’m Looking For

The ideal teacher will be someone who brings both skill and heart to the classroom. You’ll need:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Recent experience in KS1, ideally Year One
• Strong knowledge of the curriculum and confidence delivering high-quality phonics
• A genuine passion for helping children succeed
• Solid classroom organisation and behaviour management
