Area Sales Manager – South-West & South Wales

£45,000 – £48,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Commission

Covering South Wales, Bristol, Gloucester, Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon & Cornwall

The Opportunity


Aspion are working with a well-established UK manufacturer and distributor of high-quality electrical products, known for their innovation, reliability and long-standing partnerships with leading wholesalers. We are leading the search for a driven Area Sales Manager to re-establish its presence and maximise the huge untapped potential across the South-West and South Wales.


This is not a “maintenance” role – it’s a chance to take ownership of a territory, revive lapsed accounts, build new contractor relationships, and drive turnover. The right person will become the face of the brand across the region and play a pivotal part in its future growth.


Key Responsibilities


  • Re-engage lapsed accounts and re-establish strong relationships with major wholesalers in the region
  • Identify, target, and win new contractor business, supporting lighting designs and quotations
  • Manage the full sales cycle via the wholesale channel – from enquiry through to delivery
  • Consistently deliver against monthly turnover targets, with support from internal sales teams
  • Act as a trusted partner to both wholesalers and contractors, driving long-term, sustainable growth
  • Provide regular updates and market insight to the wider sales management team


What We’re Looking For


  • A proven track record in sales within the electrical wholesale sector (lighting experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong existing relationships with regional wholesalers and contractors
  • A personable, collaborative style – someone who builds loyalty and credibility rather than chasing quick wins
  • Resilience, self-motivation, and the ability to manage a large geographic territory effectively
  • Based within the territory – ideally around Bristol, Gloucester, Wiltshire or Cardiff for easy access to the majority of accounts
  • Ambitious and coachable – this role is perfect for someone who wants to grow into a top performer rather than a ready-made “big hitter”
