Assistant Estimator - Derby

Are you an Assistant Estimator looking for progression within a flexible and supportive team? A well-established brickwork subcontractor, part of a successful group of companies, has an opportunity for an Assistant Estimator due to growth.

The company works in partnership with leading main contractors and is known for its expertise in masonry, brickwork, blockwork, and stonework. Their projects mainly include high-rise residential schemes, build-to-rent accommodation, hospitals, education, and defence.

Their group turnover is approaching £50m, with an independent turnover of £16m, and they have a 5-year plan to reach up to £20m.

The Role

The Assistant Estimator will work in the office or from home, supporting the Managing Estimator on various projects with major main contractors. Typical scheme sizes range from £500k to £3m. The initial focus will be on Bills of Quantities.

The Right Person

• Self-motivated with good time management skills.
• Proficient in Math and English.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Ideally, some understanding of brickwork.
• Open to candidates currently working as an Assistant Estimator, Bricklayer, Assistant Site Manager, or Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to move into estimating.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings is preferred.
