Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Junior Quantity Surveyor

£34,000 – £45,000 + Package
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team on a high-profile commercial office fit-out project
This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years’ post-graduate experience who is looking to develop within a fast-paced, high-spec fit-out environment, gaining hands-on exposure across the full commercial lifecycle of projects.
You will be working closely with and reporting directly to a Project Quantity Surveyor, gaining real responsibility from day one across procurement, cost management, and subcontractor packages.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the Project QS in the day-to-day commercial management of the project
Assisting with procurement of subcontract packages, including issuing enquiries, analysing returns, and preparing comparisons
Contributing to the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and take-offs
Assisting with subcontractor negotiations and appointments
Supporting the management of variations, change control, and valuations
Assisting in the preparation of monthly cost reports and forecasts
Reviewing and processing subcontractor applications and payments
Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation
Liaising with internal teams, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure commercial objectives are met
Supporting the agreement of final accounts
Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
1–3 years’ post-graduate experience in a Quantity Surveying role
Experience within construction, interiors, or fit-out projects is advantageous
Strong understanding of commercial processes and contract administration
Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
Proactive, driven, and eager to learn and develop
