We are recruiting an Assistant Building Surveyor to join a well-established Social Housing Group inCambridgeshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their career within property and develop professionally in a supportive environment.
As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of a high-quality property service across domestic and commercial homes, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
Whats on offer: Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Working pattern: Hybrid 12 days office-based, remainder on site
Location: Cambridge, with travel across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire (own vehicle required)

Assistant Building Surveyor key responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out stock condition, maintenance and pre/post inspections
  • Producing floor plans and technical reports
  • Diagnosing defects including damp and mould
  • Supporting major works and preparing specifications
  • Ensuring compliance with building regulations, CDM and safety standards (asbestos, fire, legionella)
  • Liaising with tenants, contractors and stakeholders
  • Participating in the on-call rota and supporting safeguarding procedures
The successful Assistant Building Surveyor will have:
  • Ideally two years experience within social housing or a similar environment
  • Knowledge of construction, maintenance, building regulations and health & safety
  • Strong communication, problem-solving and IT skills
  • A proactive and organised approach
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
