Assistant Surveyor

As an Assistant Building Surveyor, you will support the delivery of a high-quality property service across domestic and commercial homes, ensuring buildings remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
Whats on offer: Salary: £30,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
Working pattern: Hybrid 12 days office-based, remainder on site
Location: Cambridge, with travel across Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire (own vehicle required)

- Carrying out stock condition, maintenance and pre/post inspections
- Producing floor plans and technical reports
- Diagnosing defects including damp and mould
- Supporting major works and preparing specifications
- Ensuring compliance with building regulations, CDM and safety standards (asbestos, fire, legionella)
- Liaising with tenants, contractors and stakeholders
- Participating in the on-call rota and supporting safeguarding procedures
- Ideally two years experience within social housing or a similar environment
- Knowledge of construction, maintenance, building regulations and health & safety
- Strong communication, problem-solving and IT skills
- A proactive and organised approach
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
