Do you have the skills and dedication to be a guiding light for students facing behavioural challenges? Join our team as a Behaviour Mentor and help shape the future of young learners in Greenwich!
We are working with a specialist secondary school in Greenwich that are aiming to find specialist support staff to help with learners that have ASC and behavioural difficulties.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a pivotal role in creating a positive and supportive learning atmosphere for students with SEN.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
- Implementing behaviour intervention plans and strategies in collaboration with teachers and other specialists.
- Using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage desired behaviours and social skills.
- Monitoring and tracking student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
- Assisting teachers in classroom management and promoting a harmonious learning environment.
- Building strong rapport with students, parents, and colleagues to facilitate effective communication.
What the ideal individual will have:
- Experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and intervention strategies.
- Empathy, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant certifications or training in behaviour management (desirable but not mandatory).
