Job Description

We’re Hiring – Behaviour Mentors (SEMH & Behaviour Support)

South East London | Full-Time | Term-Time Only

Are you calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent, and passionate about helping young people regulate and succeed?

We’re recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work across mainstream, Alternative Provisions (APs), and SEND schools in South East London. This is a rewarding opportunity for those who can build trust, set boundaries, and help pupils develop the tools they need to thrive — in school and beyond.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
  • Strong relationship-building and behaviour management skills
  • A calm, consistent, and restorative approach to de-escalation
  • Confidence delivering 1:1 or small group behaviour interventions
  • Bonus: Experience in youth work, mentoring, sport coaching, or pastoral support

Ideal for:

  • Aspiring youth workers, social workers, or educational psychologists
  • Graduates in psychology, criminology, education or related fields
  • Individuals with lived experience who want to be positive role models

What you’ll get:

  • Opportunities to work in supportive, trauma-informed school environments
  • Tailored training in safeguarding, Team Teach, and behaviour management
  • The chance to make a long-term impact on a child’s emotional and academic journey
  • Competitive daily pay (PAYE & umbrella options available)

If you believe in second chances, positive reinforcement, and helping students turn things around, we want to hear from you.
