A growing construction consultancy is now seeking experienced Building Surveyors to join their teams across London, the South East, and South West regions. The building surveyor will work on a wide range of projects in healthcare, blue light, local government, and education sectors. This role offers the chance for a building surveyor to be involved in contract administration, surveys, and project management, while collaborating with a team of skilled professionals and supporting clients throughout the project lifecycle. The Role As a building surveyor, you will support Senior Building Surveyors and Associates, assisting with projects from start to finish. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining strong client relationships.
The role will include: * Acting as Contract Administrator and/or Employers Agent when required * Preparing project designs and specifications * Managing projects of varying size and complexity * Undertaking surveys and site inspections * Preparing tender documentation, evaluations, and recommendations * Providing contractual advice pre- and post-contract to clients and design teams * Preparing plans in CAD and reviewing project documentation * Coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary project teams * Assisting senior colleagues with Party Wall matters, Acquisition and Condition Surveys, and Dilapidations * Maintaining technical knowledge of buildings, construction, and operations, including defects * Ensuring personal responsibility for health and safety on projects * Supporting improvements in social and environmental impact
The Building Surveyor? You will be a capable and committed individual with experience in building surveying and a desire to further develop your skills. Applications from non-construction backgrounds will not be considered.
The Building Surveyor must have: * Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent * Strong technical grounding across core areas of building surveying * Experience in project management, surveys, and contract administration * Client-focused approach with ability to deliver practical solutions * Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision * Confident in networking and supporting business development activities * Willingness to develop leadership skills and mentor junior staff * Due to client requirements, this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check
