As we enter a significant period of growth, we are scaling our Capital Markets team to support our increasingly sophisticated funding requirements.As the lead deal principal in the Capital Markets team, you will be responsible for helping source, structure and execute the key funding lines for Octopus Electric Vehicles' substantial and rapidly growing fleet of electric vehicles. This senior role requires a deep understanding of structured finance, securitisation, and debt markets, combined with the ability to help manage relationships with institutional investors, banks, and rating agencies. You will be instrumental in helping to optimise our capital structure to support our continued growth and maintain our competitive advantage in the electric vehicle leasing market.This is a unique opportunity to join the Capital Markets team in one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most disruptive companies in the e-mobility sector. We offer a dynamic, entrepreneurial culture and the chance to make a real-world impact on climate change.What you'll doDeal Execution: Help lead the execution of different funding lines for the Capital Markets team, focusing on asset-backed securitisation (ABS) and other structured debt financing solutions for the EV fleet.Securitisation funding: Originate, structure and execute securitisation facilities (both public and private), building on what we have in place currently to ensure consistent and cost-effective funding.Investor Relations: Help develop, maintain, and strengthen relationships with a range of institutional investors (e.g., banks, insurance companies, asset managers, pension funds), rating agencies, and service providers.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the broader team and business heads to align funding activities with overall business goals, financial reporting, legal and compliance requirements.Transaction Documentation: Responsible for transaction legal documentation and negotiations with investors. This will include working with external legal counsel and reviewing all transaction documentation.Performance Monitoring & Compliance: Monitoring and supporting compliance with transaction covenants, performance triggers and transaction reporting requirements.What you'll needMinimum of 7 years of experience in Capital Markets, Banking, Structured Finance, Debt Advisory, alternative lending or a similar financial role, with a demonstrable focus on asset-backed lending/securitisation and forward flow transactionsProven track record in structuring and executing securitisation programs (ideally within automotive, leasing, or a similar asset class), including extensive experience reviewing securitisation standard legal documentsDeep technical knowledge of debt products, financial modelling, risk management, and credit rating agency processesExcellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial strategies to both internal and external stakeholdersExperience managing projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environmentAbility to collaborate with individuals across the different teams in the business (i.e., sales, marketing and operational teams) to align financing requirements with broader business goalsA passion for the transition to Net Zero, electric vehicles, and innovative, sustainable business modelsWhy else you\'ll love it hereSalary is discussed with recruiters on request; there is flexibility to match experience with the appropriate compensation.
