Strategy: Buy-and-Build | Exit in 18 Months IH9205 A Private Equity–backed SaaS platform with £42m revenue is seeking a commercially driven Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function through the next phase of accelerated growth and a planned exit within 18 months. The business has an established finance team of 10 and a clear buy-and-build strategy, targeting bolt-on acquisitions with enterprise values between £500k and £10m. The incoming CFO will play a central role in executing this strategy, driving value creation initiatives, and preparing the business for a successful liquidity event. This is a high-impact role suited to a hands-on, strategically minded finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, transaction-led environment. The Role Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Private Equity investors, the CFO will:
Lead and develop the existing finance team of 10 Drive financial strategy, planning, and performance management Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow optimisation, and KPI reporting Lead acquisition activity including valuation, due diligence, deal structuring, and integration Strengthen financial controls, systems, and reporting infrastructure Prepare the business for exit, including vendor due diligence and investor engagement Act as a key commercial partner to the CEO and Board Manage banking relationships, debt facilities, and capital structure
Candidate Profile
Proven CFO or Finance Director experience within a SaaS, software, or tech-enabled business Prior experience in a Private Equity–backed environment Demonstrable buy-and-build / M&A execution experience Strong understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, LTV/CAC, etc.) Track record of leading a business through growth and ideally an exit event Strategic yet hands-on leadership style Credible Board presence with strong stakeholder management capability
