Are you a qualified social worker with experience of quality assurance and auditing and seeking a rewarding role within the public sector? West Berkshire Council is seeking to recruit a Quality Assurance and Audit Manager to join our Children and Family Service, reporting to the Service Manager within the Quality Assurance & Safeguarding Service. Thisis an excellent opportunity to contribute to the effective delivery ofaudit and assurance services within a dynamic and supportive organisation.The RoleYou will play a key role in supporting the Service Manager to further strengthen and develop West Berkshire's Quality Assurance & Audit processes within the Children and Family Services and ensure their effective operation. Your main responsibilities will include:The ongoing development and strengthening of the current WBC Quality Assurance and Audit frameworks.Conducting audits and reviews to assess compliance with standards and regulationsIdentifying areas for improvement and making appropriate recommendationsCollaborating with service delivery teams to provide training, advice and support on quality improvementMonitoring progress on implementing audit recommendationsEnsuring training needs identified through audit are successfully delivered and learning embedded.Preparing reports and presenting findings to relevant stakeholdersIn addition, you will contribute to the overall management and leadership of the service, working closely with other colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children and families.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:Experience of completing children services audits and have significant experience of the management/supervision of social work staff working within a Local Authority Children ServiceSound knowledge of audit methodologies and techniquesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearlyAbility to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levelsSelf-motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a teamIf you are passionate about driving improvement and ensuring the best outcomes for children and families, this role is perfect for you.Please note this role is fixed term for two years from start date Funding limited projectWest Berkshire Council offer excellent employment benefits such as:Flexible working wherever possible between the hours of 07.00-21.00Hybrid working wherever possible working 40% in the officeAccess to a wide range of training and development opportunitiesGenerous Local Government pension schemeFamily friendly policiesA range of local discountsWellbeing Programme including Employee Assistance Programme and employee benefitsYou will also be entitled to a generous annual leave entitlement starting at 29 days per annum (plus public holidays) Rising by an additional 5 days after 5 years service.Please note that the closing date is given as a guide.We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role.
