Clerk of Works (Highways Capital Project Delivery)

Our client, a London Borough, is seeking a proficient Clerk of Works (Project Delivery) on a contract basis to contribute to their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing and monitoring the construction activities on-site for the Council's Capital Project programme.
Ensuring compliance with building regulations and safety standards by inspecting workmanship and materials.
Liaising with term contractors, subcontractors, other departments, utility companies, and external organisations.
Documenting and reporting on project progress, site activities, and any issues observed during site inspections.
Providing expert advice on quality control and construction techniques.
Identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation measures as necessary.
Working collaboratively with project managers to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
Ensuring the highest standards of site safety and cleanliness are maintained at all times.

Job Requirements:

Experience as a Clerk of Works or in a similar role within the construction industry.
A comprehensive understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations.
Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality and standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and documentation.
Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly to ensure project milestones are met.
Relevant qualifications in construction, engineering or related fields are advantageous
