Commercial Gas Engineer
North London
£50,000 - £55,000
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial buildings across North London. This is a mobile role covering planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and installation works across a variety of commercial sites. You'll be joining a well-established engineering team, offering a stable workload, consistent hours, and clear long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on commercial gas, heating, and HVAC systems
  • Diagnose and repair faults on commercial heating and combustion equipment
  • Undertake general building services duties including plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and minor fabric works
  • Complete installations, system upgrades, and both major and minor repair works
  • Participate in an on-call rota (approximately 1 in 10)
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with current legislation, safety standards, and industry best practice

Essential Experience:
  • Strong experience working on commercial gas, heating, combustion, and HVAC systems
  • Proven background in fault finding, PPM, reactive maintenance, and installation work
  • Experience within commercial FM or building services environments
Commercial Gas Qualifications (Essential):
  • COCN1 or CODNC1
  • TPCP1A
  • ICPN1
  • CORT1
  • CIGA1
Technical Certifications:
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering
Package & Benefits
  • Salary £50,000 - £55,000
  • Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • On-call rota: approx. 1 in 10 (£150 standby)
  • Company van provided (including phone & PDA)
