We are looking for a experienced Commercial General Manager to join our team in London.
Base - London office (Hybrid)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Team Size: ~10 staff
The General Manager will be responsible for the overall operational leadership, commercial growth, and team management of the company's European student travel operations.
The role will ensure that all client groups are delivered at the highest service level while driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and team performance.
The GM will unify and lead the existing teams managing European student groups and the Polish market, ensuring consistent processes, improved collaboration, and scalable operations to support the company's growth strategy.
Role Overview
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the DMC business.
Ensure all student group programs are delivered smoothly and profitably.
Implement operational systems and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
Ensure clear coordination between the European markets team and the Poland team.
2. Commercial Growth
Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue from £4M to £6M+.
Strengthen relationships with existing European partners and student travel operators.
Identify opportunities to expand into new European markets.
Monitor pricing, margins, and profitability across all programs.
3. Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the team of approximately 10 staff.
Create clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
Improve collaboration between teams that currently operate separately.
Identify opportunities to streamline the team structure while maintaining service quality.
4. Client Relationship Management
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction across all student group programs.
Act as a senior point of contact for key partners and clients.
Monitor service quality and quickly resolve operational issues.
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Work with the CEO to set and track revenue and margin targets.
6. Strategy & Business Development
Work closely with the CEO on growth strategy.
Identify opportunities to scale operations without significantly increasing headcount.
Support the development of new products and destinations.

Candidate Profile
Experience
Minimum 7–10 years experience in:
Destination Management
Student travel
Group travel operations
Proven experience managing multi-market European operations
Demonstrated ability to grow revenue while improving operational efficiency
Skills

Commercial mindset with revenue growth focus
Excellent operational and organisational skills
Strong relationship management with international partners
Ability to implement systems and scalable processes
