Job title: Community Nurse, Band 6 Location: Christopher's, Artington near Guildford and community based Salary: £40,355.30-£46,089.41 plus geographical allowance (depending on qualifications and experience) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Closing date: Tuesday, 1st August 2025 (23:55 pm) About Shooting Star Children’s Hospices We have an exciting opportunity for a paediatric nurse to join our hospice community team at Shooting Star Children’s Hospices. Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provides specialist care and support to families who have a baby, child or young person with a life-limiting condition, or who have been bereaved. Rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission, we support families across Surrey, north-west London and south-west London from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care. At the heart of what we do are our dedicated staff; their exceptional commitment and professionalism means every family has the opportunity to make every moment count . About the role You will join our team of experienced nurses, delivering care to children and young people with complex and palliative care needs at home, in hospital or at our Guildford based hospice, Christopher’s. You’ll work alongside other professionals delivering care within the community, helping to shape and build our 24/7 community service and being supported to work as an autonomous practitioner within a supportive team. About you The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and have at least 2 years’ experience of children’s nursing. There will be lots of opportunity for networking and you will share your knowledge and skills, as well as learn from other healthcare professionals. The post will be based at Christopher’s near Guildford but the successful candidate will also need to travel to hospitals covered by Shooting Star Children's Hospices as well as home visits throughout Surrey and West London, therefore car owner and driver is essential. Please note that appointment will be subject to enhanced DBS clearance.
