Job Summary Applications are invited for a full‑time substantive consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH). The post requires fellowship training in knee surgery, including revision knee replacement, and covers the full spectrum of knee arthroplasty procedures and trauma management. Key Responsibilities
Carry out the full spectrum of knee arthroplasty procedures, managing an autonomous elective practice with outpatients, day cases and inpatients. Provide and manage the full spectrum of trauma cases admitted to NNUH, including primary management of acute trauma. Assist in specialist areas such as paediatrics and spines and refer complex cases to colleagues with specialist interests. Accept referrals for complex problems in their subspecialty, incorporating these into elective and additional trauma lists. Share office space, junior doctor and secretarial support with other Trauma & Orthopaedic (T&O) consultants on an equitable basis. Participate in mentoring for new consultants as the Trust incorporates mentoring into policy.
Qualifications and Experience
Fellowship trained in knee surgery, including revision knee replacement. Full‑time consultant level in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. Competent in primary management of all areas of acute trauma.
