Continuous Improvement Manager

A rapidly growing and well-established manufacturing organisation based in Greater Manchester are currently looking to hire a Continuous ImprovementManager to join their senior leadership team on a permanent basis.
This is a newly created position with the primary focus of delivering growth through efficiency via the deployment of World Class Manufacturing.
Reporting to the Head of Operations and working closely with other stakeholders in Production the first objective will be to identify loss and waste in a 24/5 semi-automated production process. As the position develops you will be expected to own the WCM program and run a steering committee with front line managers who will be running specific tasks (5S pilots, problem solving, 5Ys) The site is at the start of their WCM journey so there will be opportunity to design and build the WCM framework and processes. Long term the plan is to role this out to other sites internationally.
Other Tasks Include
- Identifying and managing small CAPEX investments to support the WCM plan
- Deliver training, workshops, and bring on-board sessions; providing facilitation, materials and support for the line managers
- Be the subject matter expert for WCM best practices to guide and lead the senior management team in creating long term business plans
- Working collaboratively with all stakeholder to create a culture of continuous improvement within Operations and the wider business.
Practical experience of deploying World Class Manufacturing is desirable, as is education to degree level in a technical or business discipline. A strong knowledge of tools like; 5S, Visual Management, Teamwork, Focused Improvement Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping is also required.
As well as a competitive salary, the position has a 10% annual bonus, 33 days holiday, private health care, excellent pension scheme and a 35 hour week with flexible hours (including 1 day a week WFH).
