Job Description
The Service Manager provides senior operational leadership across Muve Homecare services. The role takes a lead on quality governance risk management and service development ensuring care is safe effective and person-centred. The Service Manager is responsible for assessment care planning and oversight of care packages while working closely with MDTs and internal management teams.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\n * Mileage reimbursement\n\n * Supportive management and clinical oversight\n\n * Opportunities for professional development and progression\n\n * A values-led organisation focused on independence dignity and quality of life\n\nLocation: Primarily field based across supported living services in Birmingham & Midlands area, with occasional working from the Muve Homecare office.\n\nHours of Work: 40 hours per week worked flexibly to meet service needs.\n\nThis role includes evenings nights and weekend working and is not a Monday–Friday office-only role.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOperational Oversight and Quality\n\n * Provide senior leadership and oversight across services ensuring compliance with care plans risk assessments and regulatory requirements\n\n * Take a lead role in mobilising packages of care including rapid response planning and staffing coordination\n\n * Maintain a visible presence in both the office and the field supporting staff and managers\n\n * Provide leadership decision-making and escalation support to Management.\n\n * Supporting the Out of Hours Team when senior leadership is required.\n\nStaff Leadership and Support\n\n * Act as a point of escalation for staff queries incidents and concerns\n\n * Provide practical and emotional support to staff working with individuals with Learning Disabilities Mental Health needs and behaviours that challenge\n\n * Promote least restrictive practice and positive risk-taking\n\nSafeguarding Risk and Governance\n\n * Support safeguarding processes incident management and follow-up actions\n\n * Ensure restrictive practices are lawful proportionate and recorded appropriately\n\n * Complete reports following incidents audits and reviews\n\n * Escalate concerns and provide clear feedback to the Registered Manager\n\nSystems and Documentation\n\n * Use and review digital care planning systems such as Birdie or equivalent\n\n * Ensure accurate timely and high-quality documentation is maintained\n\n * Support audits and quality improvement actions\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n * Experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities Mental Health needs and behaviours that challenge\n\n * Experience within supported living or community-based services\n\n * Ability to work flexibly including nights and weekends\n\n * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (mileage paid)\n\n * Strong understanding of safeguarding risk management and person-centred support\n\n * Ability to lead support and challenge staff practice appropriately\n\n * Right to work in the UK\n\nDesirable Criteria\n\n * Experience in a Senior Support Worker Team Leader or Deputy Manager role\n\n * Knowledge of PBS PMVA or equivalent\n\n * Experience using digital care planning systems such as Birdie\n\n * NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards Level 4 or 5)
