This is a large-scale, technically complex development currently in its delivery phase, offering a genuine opportunity to play a central role in shaping and driving design outcomes.This is a significant project, providing the opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of a landmark development within a dynamic and internationally experienced organisation.The RoleReporting to the Design Director, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design development and delivery across all disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.You will play a central role in ensuring that design outputs are fully coordinated, compliant, and aligned with programme, cost, and buildability requirements, while supporting seamless integration with construction activities.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and coordinate the design process across all disciplines, including architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist packagesEnsure all design deliverables comply with UK Building Regulations, British Standards, CDM 2015, and client requirementsOversee the preparation, review, and approval of design drawings, technical submissions, and shop drawingsLead design coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client representativesIdentify and resolve design clashes and interface issues through BIM coordination and structured design reviewsWork closely with planning teams to ensure alignment between design deliverables and project programme milestonesCoordinate with procurement and commercial teams to ensure design intent aligns with specifications and contractual requirementsProvide technical support to construction teams, including responding to RFIs and resolving site-based design challengesSupport value engineering initiatives to deliver cost-effective and buildable design solutionsMonitor design progress, risks, and key issues, providing regular updates to senior project leadershipEnsure all design documentation is controlled, managed, and distributed in line with project protocolsAbout YouExperience510+ years experience in design management within large-scale construction projectsProven experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and consultantsExperience delivering projects across multiple RIBA stagesBackground in major infrastructure or complex building projects is highly desirableQualificationsDegree or equivalent in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related disciplineChartered status (e.g. RIBA, ARB, CIBSE, IStructE) is advantageousSkills & KnowledgeStrong understanding of multidisciplinary design coordination and integrationSolid knowledge of UK regulations, standards, and compliance requirementsExperience working within BIM-led design environments (e.g. Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 / ACC)Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documentationUnderstanding of buildability, design risk, and cost implicationsStrong stakeholder management, communication, and coordination skillsWorking EnvironmentRegular on-site presence required to support coordination, installation, and commissioning activities with some flexibility for hybrid working.Opportunity to work with international teams across the wider organisationFast-paced, technically complex project environmentWhat We OfferCompetitive annual base salary28 days annual leave, including UK public holidays Private medical healthcare Pension scheme Mobile phone allowance (up to £40 per month) Why Join This ProjectThis is an opportunity to take a senior leadership role on a major, high-impact construction project in North London, within a globally recognised organisation.You will play a critical role in shaping the design and delivery of a complex scheme, working at the intersection of strategy, technical excellence, and project execution.EligibilityApplicants must have the right to work in the UK.
