Overview: Working with our client, an established injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking for a Development Manager to join their team in support of continued growth and investment in new equipment Benefits: 33 days annual leave, including a shutdown at Christmas Enhanced pension scheme Life insurance Company sick pay up to 24 weeks (increasing with years of service) All PPE provided, including safety shoes Remit: This position will suit an experienced engineering professional with prior experience in the installation and commissioning of new Capital equipment The successful Development Manager candidate will be an electrically biased Engineer with strong appreciation of plastics manufacturing machinery and ancillary equipment Fantastic opportunity for a skilled Engineer with supervisory experience to progress into a senior position focused on new equipment and plant improvement projects Role: In the role of Development Manager you will be responsible for the safe installation of Capital equipment and site improvement projects As Development Manager you will lead on the identification, evaluation, development and implementation of new equipment and processing technologies Identify and specify new equipment, seeking out potential suppliers and gathering quotations Lead feasibility studies and technical evaluations for new equipment Working closely with suppliers on equipment design requirements / solutions Liaise with suppliers and OEMs to ensure technical and commercial alignment Present to senior management the costs and timescales to realise a specific project Manage projects from inception through to handover to production in terms of safety, cost, time and quality Coordinate trials and validation of new machinery and equipment Collaborate with production and quality teams to embed new processes and standards Provide technical guidance to engineering and operations teams on machinery and processing Experience Requirements: Time served electrically biased Engineer qualified to HNC / HND level Good working knowledge of Mechatronics, PLC Technology, Servo drives and Control systems Good communication skills with the ability to manage suppliers and contractors Experience on the safe installation and commissioning ofnew equipment Proven experience within plastics manufacturing Strong project management skills Experience with robotics and automation Understanding of health & safety requirements for industrial equipment Leadership and people management skills Key Words: Development Manager, Development Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Service Engineer", Electrical Engineer, Injection Moulding, Plastics, Project Engineer" FOOTER Due to the sheer volume of applications we receive we will only contact successful applications that meet the requirements of our client job brief.
