Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a specialist renewable energy engineering consultancy with a strong focus on solar PV and BESS design, together we are looking to recruit a Electrical Design Engineer.

The strategically important Electrical Design Engineer role comes with a salary of £60,000 - £65,000 which is negotiable, along with flexible working options and professional development support.

Responsibilities and duties of Electrical Design Engineer role:

Reporting to the Director you will:

Lead and support the design of solar PV and BESS systems across the full project lifecycle (concept through to operation) Carry out solar park yield simulations and optimisation studies Undertake electrical and power system design, including grid connection studies Produce detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and technical specifications Conduct feasibility studies, due diligence, and design optimisation work Attend and lead client meetings (office and site-based) Survey and inspect sites, construction works, and operational installations Provide technical support and troubleshoot engineering issues Write detailed engineering reports and technical documentation Perform design reviews, peer reviews, and risk analysis (including CDM/safety-in-design) Manage client relationships and contribute to project delivery Support or lead junior engineers where required Contribute to proposal writing and business development activitiesProfessional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a relevant STEM discipline Around 5 years' experience in electrical system design to UK standards would be an advantagePersonal skills
