We are working in partnership with a well-regarded single sex secondary school in Northampton, seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join their team from January 2026. The role is initially offered on a temporary basis until April 2026, with strong potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

The Role:

Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 opportunities may be available)

Foster a love of reading, writing, and effective communication

Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners and support excellent progress

Contribute to whole-school literacy initiatives and enrichment opportunities

Work collaboratively within a committed English department on planning, assessment, and student outcomes

The Ideal Candidate:

Holds QTS/QTLS or equivalent with a specialism in English

Demonstrates strong curriculum knowledge and effective classroom practice

Is a creative, reflective practitioner with high expectations for behaviour and achievement

Has excellent classroom management and communication skills

Is committed to inclusive teaching and student wellbeing

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply, with structured support and mentoring provided.
