Paid to ScaleSpencer Clarke Group are working in partnership with a secondary school in Southport to recruit an English Teacher for an immediate start. This is a full-time position continuing until the end of the academic year, paid to scale in line with your experience.

The school is seeking a committed English specialist to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience.

The Role

Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum

Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring strong progress and outcomes

Assess, monitor and track student performance effectively

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Contribute to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting

Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

A clear understanding of the GCSE English Language and Literature curriculum

An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
