We’re looking for an experienced and commercially minded Estate Surveyor to join our Property & Assets team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied caseload, influence strategic decisions, and ensure our estate is managed effectively, safely, and in line with regulatory requirements.

About the role
You’ll lead on the disposal and acquisition of properties, manage a portfolio of commercial tenancies, and oversee general estates management matters such as boundary disputes, party wall issues, easements, and licences. You’ll also build and manage relationships with external property professionals and act as a trusted advisor to internal teams.
This role offers a strong balance of autonomy and collaboration, with opportunities to represent the Senior Estates Surveyor and contribute to high‑level decision‑making.
What you’ll be doing
* Managing the disposal and acquisition of Anchor stock, ensuring the best commercial and strategic outcomes.
* Overseeing a caseload of commercial leases, including rent reviews, lease renewals, and regears.
* Managing vacant buildings awaiting disposal or redevelopment, ensuring minimal disruption and risk.
* Handling estates management matters such as boundary disputes, party wall issues, easements, and licences.
* Preparing and presenting board authority papers for property transactions.
* Developing decant strategies and liaising with internal teams, local authorities, and external partners.
* Building and managing a network of external property professionals.
* Advising stakeholders on small sites development and estates‑related issues.
What you’ll bring
* Strong understanding of residential property transactions and social housing disposal regulations.
* Knowledge of commercial leases, property law, and public sector property regulation.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
* Confident communicator with strong presentation and reporting abilities.
* Ability to prioritise, manage deadlines, and take a logical, systematic approach.
* Skilled in developing business cases and securing senior‑level support.
* Proven experience buying, selling, and negotiating property in a commercial environment.
* Experience in commercial landlord and tenant work, including rent reviews and lease renewals.
* Experience preparing business cases and presenting to senior stakeholders.
* Experience appointing and managing external professional representatives.
Qualifications
* MRICS or AssocRICS (essential) with demonstrable experience in estate and commercial property management
