Make an Impact at RSM UK
Working in the Ethics Team, you will work alongside other senior members of the team and support the ethics partner to help deliver on the team’s strategy. Specifically, you will support the Independence team in delivering on RSM’s responsibilities in complying with independence and ethics requirements and, in particular, advise the Tax and Consulting service lines to develop their systems and processes.
Principal Responsibilities
Responding to ethical and independence queries and consultations from partners and staff across the firm related to non‑audit services.
Design and implementation of systems and controls, ISQM1 requirements, and overall ethics function strategy.
Lead individual projects to enhance the Independence Team’s systems and processes.
Further enhance KPI reporting.
Lead the Independence Team’s strategy and integrate the Global Independence Assessment (GIA) within RSM’s client engagement software.
Enhance monitoring of data within GIA to improve accuracy and quality.
Improve ways of working, present ideas and solutions to the Ethics Team and develop user‑friendly systems and processes.
Manage more junior members, coordinate projects, respond to queries and collaborate with IT, risk, and compliance teams to deliver system projects.
Provide team oversight, guidance, and reporting/escalation.
Maintain and update the firm’s ethical and independence guidance and policy regarding the FRC’s Ethical Standard, IESBA Code of Ethics, and other regulatory standards.
Develop relevant and practical learning materials on ethical and independence matters.
Assist the Ethics Partner in responding to regulator queries and annual compliance testing, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Write articles and other communications on ethical matters.
Deliver training sessions internally across all streams.
What We Are Looking For
Relevant experience in similar roles within professional services firms applying ethical standards and comparable regulatory frameworks.
Knowledge of the IESBA Code of Ethics and the FRC’s Ethical Standard for auditors.
Understanding of regulation and application of rules in practice.
Risk management principles knowledge and practical application.
Strong written and oral communication skills, confident and professional across all levels.
A self‑starter with exceptional project‑management skills and ability to work under pressure.
Strong coaching and people‑management skills.
Data, analytical, consultative, decision‑making, and organisational skills.
