Ideally suited to candidates based in North London, although projects may be delivered nationally, including across the Midlands.
About the Company
My client is an established principal contractor with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in cladding remediation and façade regeneration. They deliver high-quality, compliant, multi-million-pound projects across London, the South East and other regions nationwide.
The Role
The Façade Designer will be responsible for producing and managing technical drawings where in-house design applies. The role requires close collaboration with Estimating, Commercial and Site Management teams throughout the project lifecycle to monitor design development and maintain quality standards.
You will also liaise with manufacturers, structural engineers and architects to ensure technical compliance and practical buildability.
Key Responsibilities

Produce, review and revise detailed façade drawings in line with project specifications.

Track and manage drawing revisions throughout the design and construction phases.
*
Liaise with manufacturers and project teams, distributing relevant technical documentation as required.
*
Respond to technical queries, offering practical solutions to design and installation challenges.
*
Escalate design or quality concerns to the Design & Quality Manager where appropriate.
*
Support site teams by ensuring accurate and up-to-date design information is available from project commencement through to completion.
*
Assist with site visits (planned and ad hoc) to monitor installation quality and ensure compliance with specifications and manufacturer guidance.
*
Support the Design & Quality Manager in advising and guiding site management and subcontractors on technical matters.
*
Monitor KPIs relating to technical delivery and subcontractor performance.
*
Attend design and coordination meetings with site teams as required.
*
Provide updated subcontractor information to procurement teams where necessary.
*
Collate documentation required for compliance, client submissions and funder requirements.
*
Make recommendations for design improvements to the Design & Quality Manager.
Skills & Experience
Role-Specific:
*
Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline (or relevant industry experience).
*
Valid CSCS card (basic level).
*
Strong façade experience – including cladding, rainscreen and EWI (essential).
Technical & IT:
*
Advanced AutoCAD proficiency (3D AutoCAD, SketchUp or Revit advantageous).
*
Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
*
Experience using Project Probe or similar systems beneficial

£32,000 - £45,000 /annum
