London| Hybrid | Permanent A fast-growing, VC backed SaaS business is looking for an exceptional Financial Controller to join its team at a pivotal stage of scale. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact, hands‑on role with broad ownership across UK and US entities, working directly with an impressive CFO and leadership team. We are open to hiring at multiple levels of seniority, whether you’re stepping up or already operating at controller level, we’d love to hear from you. The Role: As the first in‑house finance hire, you will take full ownership of core accounting, controls and reporting across the UK parent company and US subsidiary. You will be responsible for building a best‑in‑class finance function that enables the business to move faster, operate with discipline, and scale internationally. You will:
Own the accounting and month‑end close for UK and US entities Manage VAT, sales tax and statutory compliance, working closely with UK and US advisors Support annual audits, tax filings and revenue recognition processes Lead billing, collections, payroll coordination and payables with support from Ops Build and optimise automation, processes and tooling across finance and RevOps Partner with the CFO on forecasting inputs, board packs and investor reporting Develop transfer pricing and intercompany structures as the business scales Monitor key financial metrics and work with teams across the organisation to help steer outcomes Take a “whatever it takes” approach to ensuring financial operations run smoothly at pace
Who You Are We’re looking for someone who brings the right capability and mindset:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong technical foundations Experience in SaaS or VC/PE‑backed scale‑ups is ideal Comfortable being hands‑on, from bookkeeping and billing to board reporting Commercial, pragmatic and focused on business outcomes Strong understanding of multi‑entity accounting, ideally UK + US Able to operate at speed with sound judgement in a changing environment Excellent communicator, both written and verbal Passionate about building processes, automation and tools from the ground up Driven, detail‑oriented and committed to producing high‑quality, reliable outputs
