Gas Safe Plumber

Location: Newmarket
Salary: £40,000 + Overtime
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Gas Safe Plumber to join the on-site maintenance team at a prestigious and secure site in Newmarket. Working as part of a professional facilities management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing and gas maintenance services across the estate.

This role involves a mix of planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and minor installation works, ensuring all systems operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plumbing and gas systems

  • Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnosing and repairing faults

  • Perform maintenance, servicing and repairs on gas appliances and heating systems

  • Carry out general plumbing works including pipework, taps, toilets, valves and water systems

  • Ensure all gas works are completed in accordance with Gas Safe regulations and safety standards

  • Support wider maintenance tasks across the site where required

  • Liaise with contractors and other engineers on site

  • Maintain accurate records of works carried out and ensure compliance documentation is completed

  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures

Requirements
  • Gas Safe registered

  • Proven experience working as a Gas Engineer / Plumber within facilities management, building services or commercial environments

  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems and gas appliances

  • Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance

  • Ability to fault-find and resolve issues efficiently

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Relevant plumbing or gas qualifications (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent)
