Your responsibilities as Head Butcher
  • Manage and run the day-to-day operations of the butchery counter
  • Oversee costing, pricing, and product management
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and product quality
  • Serve customers and strengthen the retail offering
  • Recruit, lead, and develop 12 junior team members or apprentices
  • Ensure the counter is fully stocked and operating efficiently
What were looking for in a Head Butcher
  • Previous experience running a retail butchery counter
  • Strong knowledge of costing, product control, and margin management
  • Experience maintaining high product and presentation standards
  • Ability to lead, train, and develop junior staff or apprentices
  • Confidence working in a customer-facing retail environment
Working hours: Around 40 hours per week, with a 7-day operation and shared weekend rotation.
