Our client, a globally recognised fashion and lifestyle business with strong heritage and international reach, is seeking an experienced and commercially sharp Finance Director to join its UK leadership team.
This is a high-impact, strategic finance role at the heart of a design-led, multi-entity business operating across the UK and European markets. The Finance Director will be responsible for financial performance, control, and planning, while playing a key role in business decision-making and operational strategy.
This is a hands-on leadership position for a proven finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial insight. The role oversees the full finance function, including financial control, FP&A, treasury, compliance, and systems transformation. You will work closely with the CEO and senior management to shape financial strategy and support business growth.
Strategic & Commercial Finance
Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning process.
Partner with functional leads to monitor financial KPIs, margins, and cost control.
Produce board-level reporting, business performance reviews, and financial analysis.
Support high-level decision-making with scenario planning and commercial insight.
Working Capital, Treasury & Systems
Manage credit control, stock valuation, and banking relationships.
Oversee trade finance, invoice discounting, and financial risk management.
Drive systems improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
Payroll, Tax & Regulatory
Ensure payroll accuracy and alignment with HR.
Oversee VAT, corporation tax, and statutory filings with internal and external advisors.
Maintain compliance across jurisdictions and support audit readiness.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
Represent Finance in group-level projects, strategic initiatives, and process optimisation.
Oversee the financial accounting cycle across multiple European entities.
Oversee consolidations, reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
Proven experience as a Finance Director, Group Financial Controller, or similar role in a fast-moving, multi-entity business.
Strong technical accounting background with international exposure.
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with systems such as Sage, SAP, or similar.
