About the Role

A forward-thinking construction consultancy is seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) to lead and develop a brand-new Building Surveying division within the business.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and commercially minded surveyor to spearhead a new department, shape service offerings, and build a team from the ground up. The role offers genuine autonomy, leadership responsibility, and the chance to influence the strategic direction of the companys growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and leading the Building Surveying department

  • Developing and expanding service lines within the business

  • Winning new work and strengthening existing client relationships

  • Delivering a full range of building surveying services, including:

    • Contract administration

    • Dilapidations

    • Planned preventative maintenance

    • Technical due diligence

    • Condition surveys

    • Project management

  • Overseeing project delivery across public and private sector clients

  • Recruiting, mentoring, and growing a high-performing team

  • Contributing to business development strategy and revenue growth

  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practice


Requirements

  • MRICS qualified (essential)

  • Strong background in Building Surveying within a consultancy environment

  • Proven experience delivering projects independently

  • Commercial awareness and business development capability

  • Leadership qualities with the ambition to grow and manage a team

  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to shape and grow a service offering
