Overview
We are looking for a highly commercial and driven Head of Finance Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to join our team. This is a critical leadership role where you will be responsible for telling the story of our financial performance, translating complex data into a clear narrative that drives strategic decision‑making. You will build and lead the FP&A function, acting as a key business partner to the OEV leadership team. Your work will provide the analytical engine for the business, developing robust models that underpin our rapid growth, inform our product pricing (across cars, chargers, and energy), and ensure our long‑term financial health. If you are passionate about building something meaningful, comfortable with ambiguity, and want to use your financial skills to help save the planet, this is the role for you.
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Business Partnering
Act as a key strategic partner to the Finance Director and the wider OEV leadership team, providing insightful financial analysis and commercial recommendations.
Lead the annual budgeting, periodic re‑forecasting, and long‑range strategic planning processes.
Develop and own complex financial models to support new business initiatives, pricing strategies for our products and investment decisions.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
Work closely with the financial controller to lead the production of timely and accurate monthly management reporting packs, providing clear commentary on performance against budget, forecast, and prior year.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) focused on driver acquisition, fleet management, margin analysis, and operational efficiency.
Conduct deep‑dive variance analysis to understand the "why" behind the numbers and identify risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
Modelling & Forecasting
Own and refine our core financial model, ensuring it accurately reflects the unique drivers of our salary sacrifice and leasing business.
Manage and improve cash flow forecasting, working closely with treasury and accounting teams to optimise our working capital.
Model various scenarios to stress‑test our plans and inform strategic pivots.
Leadership & Process Improvement
Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing FP&A team, fostering a culture of excellence, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
Drive the enhancement of our FP&A systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability as the business grows.
Collaborate with the Data team to ensure data integrity and automate reporting where possible.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a senior FP&A leadership role, ideally within a high‑growth, fast‑paced environment.
Experience in automotive, leasing, or financial services.
A fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with significant post‑qualification experience.
Demonstrable experience in building and leading a high‑performing FP&A team.
Expert‑level financial modeller: ability to build robust, scalable, and complex models, including experience working with SQL.
Commercially astute: think like a business owner, quickly grasping complex commercial drivers and translating them into financial impacts.
Exceptional communicator: simplify complex financial information and present it as a clear and compelling story to senior, non‑finance stakeholders.
Data‑savvy: highly analytical, comfortable working with large datasets. Experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, or Power BI) is a major plus.
Strong leadership capabilities: experience managing projects and/or teams in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
