We are seeking a hands-on Head of Health, Safety & Facilities to oversee health and safety, facilities, and fleet operations across multiple company sites, including engineering workshops and a marina.

This operational role is responsible for ensuring all sites are safe, compliant, and well-maintained, while supporting site teams in their day-to-day activities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation and company policies across all sites.
  • Provide updates to management on safety performance, maintenance issues, and compliance matters.
  • Maintain and review risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
  • Conduct regular site inspections across engineering workshops, yards, offices, and the marina location.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support managers and supervisors in promoting a proactive health and safety culture.
  • Ensure emergency procedures, including fire safety and evacuation plans, are in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Deliver or coordinate health and safety training and ensure sites remain prepared for inspections or audits.
  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and operation of company facilities across all sites, ensuring buildings, workshops, yards, and marina infrastructure remain safe and operational.
  • Coordinate repairs, maintenance work, and contractor activities.
  • Manage site maintenance schedules and ensure statutory inspections and servicing are completed.
  • Support facilities improvements, refurbishments, and site maintenance projects.
  • Manage the company fleet of vehicles across all sites, ensuring vehicles are serviced, maintained, and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Maintain fleet records, monitor vehicle condition, and coordinate repairs or replacements where required.
  • Provide guidance to drivers on safe and compliant vehicle use.
  • Ensure contractors follow company health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to health and safety, facilities, and fleet management.



Skills and Experience


  • Experience in health and safety management in an operational environment.
  • Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
  • Experience managing facilities, building maintenance, or site operations.
  • Experience managing company vehicles or fleet operations.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple sites.
  • NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification. (Desirable)
  • Experience in engineering, industrial, or workshop environments.
  • Experience managing contractors and maintenance providers



Working Pattern


  • Monday to Friday 8.30 AM - 5.00 PM
