North Co Recruitment are working with a leading general insurer to appoint a senior pricing leader to own and deliver market pricing strategy.

This is a high-impact leadership role with accountability for rate optimisation, P&L performance and strategic pricing delivery, operating at the heart of a significant pricing transformation programme.

Candidates currently in a Manager/Senior Manager level role stepping into the 'Head of' role will be considered, as well as those with experience already at the 'Head of' level.

What you’ll do

• Own delivery of P&L performance, balancing volume, value and underwriting profit in partnership with Distribution leaders.
• Shape and deliver market pricing strategy, including customer behaviour and market premium models, aligned to best practice.
• Lead price optimisation strategy, securing buy-in from senior stakeholders across the business.
• Oversee renewal pricing strategy, ensuring effective value-based retention incentives and performance tracking.
• Ensure new business initiatives are commercially value-accretive, with clear insight and performance monitoring.
• Lead and develop a market pricing team of c.10, setting direction, capability and delivery standards.
• Contribute to wider pricing transformation, including new tools, modelling approaches and governance frameworks.

What we’re looking for

• Deep expertise in retail pricing data and modelling, including GLMs and machine learning techniques (e.g. GBMs).
• Proven leadership experience within a Market Pricing function, with a track record of delivering results.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and pricing governance expectations.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into executable delivery plans.
• Resilient, commercially focused and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a complex environment.

Salary: Up to £130k base, plus bonus & Benefits.

Location: Hybrid working. London, Bournemouth or Tunbridge Wells area.
