Head of Mathematics – Secondary School (KS3–KS5) Location: Enfield, London, UK Salary: £37,870 – £56,154 per year Start Date: 16 March 2026 Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.
Teach Now is recruiting an ambitious Head of Mathematics for a well-established secondary school in Enfield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Head of Mathematics or a strong middle leader ready to step into a key leadership role and drive outstanding outcomes across Key Stages 3–5.
The successful Head of Mathematics will lead a committed department, raising standards in teaching and learning while supporting staff development and improving student attainment.
The Role
As Head of Mathematics, you will:
• Provide strategic leadership for the Mathematics department
• Lead curriculum design and assessment across KS3–KS5
• Drive attainment and progress at GCSE and A-Level
• Line manage and develop teaching staff
• Monitor teaching quality and implement improvement strategies
• Use data to inform interventions and raise achievement
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a Head of Mathematics who:
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong Mathematics background
• Has a proven track record of raising attainment at GCSE
• Has leadership or second-in-department experience
• Is organised, analytical, and able to inspire both staff and students
• Is committed to inclusive practice and high expectations
