At Grandir UK, we are looking for a commercially minded Head of Property to lead and optimise our growing national estate of circa 100 nurseries, with plans to expand beyond 130 settings. Reporting to our CFO, you will take ownership of estate performance, compliance, and investment, ensuring our portfolio is safe, efficient, and aligned to operational and financial goals. You will lead a programme of refurbishments, extensions, and selective new developments, while identifying opportunities to unlock value across the estate. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role offering the opportunity to play a key part in our continued growth.


What You’ll Be Doing

Development, Growth and Investment

Lead the Group’s brownfield development strategy, including extensions, refurbishments, and change of use projects

Identify and unlock value add opportunities across the existing estate

Build and manage a pipeline of development and expansion opportunities

Undertake feasibility studies, financial appraisals, and business case development

Deliver a programme of capital projects c.3 to 5 per year, ensuring on time and on budget execution

Work closely with Operations to align property strategy with occupancy and revenue growth


Estate Management and Compliance

Take overall responsibility for estate performance across all sites

Ensure full compliance with property, health and safety, and statutory requirements

Oversee planned and reactive maintenance programmes

Manage landlord relationships, leases, rent reviews, and service charge negotiations

Drive consistency and best practice across the estate


Financial and Commercial Management

Own and manage property opex and capex budgets

Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and efficiency improvements

Support long term estate planning aligned to business strategy

Provide regular reporting and insight to senior stakeholders


About You

Chartered Surveyor MRICS or equivalent (highly desirable)

Proven experience managing a multi site property portfolio

Strong track record of delivering refurbishments, extensions, or development projects

Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and driving value

Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior level

Hands on, pragmatic, and delivery focused approach
