The Impact you’ll have as a Head of Technical Documentation
We’re looking for a Head of Technical Documentation to lead the TechnicalDocumentation function at Thredd. You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality, user-focused documentation that supports our products and enhances the customer experience. You will be managing a team of Technical Writers, defining the documentation strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and drivingoperational excellence.
The Head of Technical Documentation will act as both a strategic leader and a hands-on contributor, partnering cross-functionally with other departments to ensure documentation is accurate, accessible, consistent and impactful.
What you’ll be doing as a Head of Technical Documentation
Leading, mentoring and coaching a team of Technical Writers
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align documentation with product launches, feature updates and compliance requirements
Defining and owning the documentation strategy, roadmap and KPIs aligned with company objectives
Representing the documentation function at a senior level, influencing product and operational decisions
Overseeing implementation and maintenance of content management systems and workflows
Identifying and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
Overseeing scheduling, allocation and management of documentation projects for timely delivery
Ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, accessible and consistent across platforms
Measuring and reporting on documentation quality, accessibility andeffectiveness
Establishing and enforcing documentation standards, templates and style guides
What you’ll bring to the Head of Technical Documentation position
Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop multi-member documentation teams
Experience working in payments, FinTech or financial services
Proven experience in setting standards, defining processes and driving alignment with organisational goals
Extensive technical writing experience
Experience with MadCap Flare
Knowledge of SOAP, XML and JSON would be highly desirable
Demonstrated growth in technical communications and an interest in technical communications outside of your job (i.e. courses, qualifications, ISTC membership)
Exceptional communication, organisational and project management skills
Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement abilities

This Head of Technical Documentation position requires you to be in the London office (Holborn) two days per week.
