Job Title: Head waiter Responsible to: Assistant General Manager Place of work: Jul's Scope and general purpose : Responsible for smooth running of service, supervise waiters, assistant waiters and runners and provide assistance to management. Have excellent knowledge about menu and service in order to ensure and provide high quality of customer service. Must lead his team by example. Must be knowledgeable of : JUL'S Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Mens (food description, wine & cocktail bible, allergies) Step of services Health and safety requirement Operating systems Responsibilities : Lead by example and ensure high quality service at all time Double check your team performed opening duties and filled up the stations as per the standards Perform opening and closing duties Perform set up of the restaurant and organize and fill stations before service Greet and possibly welcome the guest Explain menu to detail and provide allergies information (if customer request) Suggestive upselling Introduce food when served to guest Clean table, replace plates and silverware whenever needed Keep friendly atmosphere at all time If there is any enquiry for booking, liaise with reception or your manager Communicate with colleagues and manager in charge all time Guide and help colleagues Duties List Before service : Prepare service station for operation Set up you section in the restaurant Make sure you always have the necessary items to start the service : notepad, pens, wine opener etc Check if the stations are clean and prepare for the service following the checklist. Attend daily briefing (always wear your uniform in excellent conditions) Be aware about 86`s and any changes on the menu, items to push, and all information provided during the briefing. Help the rest of the team to finish the opening duties During service : Lead by example Welcome guests Maintain high quality service and friendly atmosphere at all time Recommend plates, portions and upsell Take orders following the Jul`s Operating procedures Attend daily briefing (always wear your uniform in excellent conditions) Write down the orders properly Punch orders properly Provide all the important information to your colleagues in order to give a better service. Serve tables Introduce every and each plate you put on the table Collect plates when needed Oversee your dedicated section Communicate with management at all time Help the runners, waiters and assistant waiters Keep track of breakage spoilage Present to cashier all payments following the Jul`s standards After service : Break down your section Report all the important information to the managers Check all tables were closed properly Consult with your superior regarding your feedback on the shift Help to polish cutlery and glasses Stay until your team is done with their duties, help all departments if required
