Health and Safety Advisor

A well-established and growing manufacturing business is seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to lead and support health and safety initiatives across its operations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about driving a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver health and safety training, including Toolbox Talks
*
Create and review risk assessments, SSOWs, and specialist assessments (e.g. COSHH, DSE, manual handling, lone working, / workers)
*
Conduct site inspections and produce detailed reports
*
Support incident investigations and root cause analysis
*
Manage injury and illness cases through the incident management system
*
Recommend and implement control measures and PPE standards
*
Liaise with contractors and engineering teams to ensure safe working practices
*
Assist with H&S Committee meetings, First Aid, Fire Marshal coordination
*
Contribute to the review and development of H&S policies and procedures
About You:
*
NEBOSH General Certificate – Essential
*
IOSH Membership – Essential
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety advisory role – Essential
*
Manufacturing or food production experience – Highly desirable
*
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of staff
*
Self-motivated, pragmatic, and solutions-focused
*
Able to work independently while contributing to a wider team
*
Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
