Job Description
A rapidly growing energy and infrastructure business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the safe delivery of complex construction and energy projects across the UK.\n This role would suit a hands-on, delivery-focused Health & Safety professional with experience working in live industrial or manufacturing environments. The position offers genuine involvement across projects from pre-construction through to site delivery and operation, with a strong emphasis on applying health and safety in a practical, proportionate, and solutions-focused way.\n This is a field-based role with regular travel to UK project sites, combined with remote working and occasional office attendance in the North West.\n Responsibilities: Health & Safety Oversight\n\nSupport the safe delivery of construction and energy projects across the business\nProvide day-to-day H&S advice and guidance to project, construction, and site teams\nSupport the practical application of CDM Regulations across multiple projects\nAct as a visible, approachable H&S point of contact for internal teams and contractorsPre-Construction & Project Support\n\nProvide H&S input during pre-construction, planning, and mobilisation phases\nAttend site meetings, reviews, and project workshops to advise on risks and mitigation\nWork collaboratively with delivery teams to develop proportionate, workable controlsSite & Stakeholder Engagement\n\nUndertake regular visits to live industrial and client sites across the UK\nEngage directly with clients on H&S matters during site visits and meetings\nBuild strong working relationships with contractors, site teams, and client representatives\nWork closely with project, construction, and operations teams to support safe delivery\nProvide input to senior stakeholders and escalate issues where appropriateProcess & Continuous Improvement\n\nSupport the development and maintenance of H&S documentation and processes\nCarry out site inspections, audits, and reviews\nContribute to continuous improvement in how health and safety is applied across projectsRequirements:\nProven experience in private-sector construction health & safety roles within live project environments\nStrong, up-to-date working knowledge of CDM Regulations with the ability to apply them practically on site\nExperience working in industrial, manufacturing, or process environments\nComfortable operating on site and engaging directly with project teams, contractors, and clients\nClear, confident communicator able to engage with site operatives through to senior stakeholders\nCalm, measured approach to managing risk and competing priorities\nPragmatic, solutions-focused mindset\nNEBOSH Certificate (minimum)\nFull UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularlyDesirable:\nExperience supporting energy or complex industrial projects\nInvolvement in improving H&S processes, systems, or documentationPackage & Benefits:\nPermanent, full-time role\nCompetitive salary dependent on experience\nCar allowance\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\nLife assurance (4x salary)\nSalary sacrifice pension scheme\nPrivate healthcare (BUPA or equivalent)\nTraining and professional development opportunitiesIf you’re a delivery-focused Health & Safety professional looking for a role where H&S is applied practically within complex, real-world projects, this opportunity is well worth exploring.\n Referrals are welcome, and a referral bonus is available for successful introductions
