Location: Brighouse (with travel to Bradford)

Up to £50,000 - £55,000 + bonus + excellent benefits


Robert Half is working with a growing organisation to recruit a Health, Safety and Environment Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic business at the heart of operations, where you’ll play a leading role in shaping and delivering a best-in-class HSE strategy across a major distribution centre and head office site.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all HSE activity across key sites, ensuring compliance with current legislation and internal policies
  • Lead risk assessments, safety audits, incident investigations, and ongoing improvement initiatives
  • Drive a proactive safety culture through clear communication, training, and leadership engagement
  • Maintain and improve HSE processes in line with ISO standards, including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Manage health surveillance, wellbeing programmes, and environmental monitoring
  • Act as the key contact for regulatory bodies and ensure effective response to legal or environmental changes
  • Deliver internal training and coaching to build a positive and compliant HSE culture
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance data, setting clear objectives for continuous improvement


Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or actively working towards Graduate Membership (GradIOSH)
  • IEMA qualification and membership (or equivalent environmental certification)
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 37001, ISO 45001, OHSAS, and integrated management systems
  • Proven experience leading HSE functions in multi-site environments (including warehousing, transport, and manufacturing within FMCG sectors)
  • Strong technical knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation and compliance requirements
  • Confident in leading projects and driving change across operational teams
  • Experience managing high-volume hourly paid workforces across logistics or supply chain environments
  • Skilled in coaching, mentoring, and inspiring others to engage with safety and sustainability goals
  • Excellent communication, people management, and influencing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Flexible in terms of travel between sites and adaptable to changing work schedules
