Infrastructure Engineer – 6-month contract – Nutanix
A major utilities client is currently looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with strong, hands-on Nutanix configuration and support experience. The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel to Worthing.
Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities:
Deploy and Support scalable Nutanix infrastructure solutions
Manage and optimize VMware virtual environments
Deliver BAU support across core infrastructure platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and service availability.
Lead and contribute to infrastructure projects, including upgrades, deployments, and enhancements within a Nutanix.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise and ensuring smooth delivery of infrastructure solutions.
Infrastructure Engineer Key Skills & Experience:
Must have Nutanix experience.
Must have strong knowledge of VMware mechanics.
Proven experience in enterprise Wintel Server administration.
Experience supporting both BAU and project-based workloads.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
Desirable Infrastructure Engineer Skills & Experience:
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with NSX-T.
Working familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) environments (advantageous).
Experience using SCCM, SolarWinds, and other enterprise monitoring solutions.
Solid grasp of Unix/Linux fundamentals.
Background working with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
