Portsmouth (preferred) | Stevenage considered Full-time – 37 hours per week 12-month contract (likely extension) Umbrella rate – £50 per hour BPSS + SC Clearance (British Eyes Only)
We are recruiting for an experienced Integrated Planning Manager to join a major UK defence and space programme. This is an exciting opportunity to support high-profile, technically complex projects within a secure and highly regulated environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting major programmes and growth projects, delivering new strategic work and bids within a Space/Digital environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for the creation, maintenance and delivery of integrated project schedules, working closely with the Project Manager and Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).
Key responsibilities include:
* Creation and maintenance of top-level and detailed project schedules
* Development and management of IPT schedules
* Schedule logic linking, dependencies and health checks
* Critical Path and Earned Value analysis
* Resource tracking and forward load analysis
* Cost vs forecast analysis
* Payment milestone tracking
* Risk analysis and change control management
* Monthly and quarterly reporting to senior management
* Creation of standardised planning and reporting templates
* Project administration support to the wider team
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone with strong planning expertise within a structured, regulated environment.
Essential:
* Proven experience in project planning and scheduling
* Strong knowledge of planning best practice (logic linking, WBS, schedule health checks, contingency planning)
* Experience with Earned Value Management and risk tracking
* Advanced proficiency in MS Project Professional and/or Primavera P6
* Strong stakeholder engagement and reporting skills
Desirable:
* Background in Aerospace, Space, Defence, Automotive, Petrochemical or similarly regulated industries
* Experience working in secure or sensitive data environments
* Knowledge of Product/Data Management tools (e.g. Windchill, Teamcenter)
* Strong IT literacy including MS Office tools
Security Requirements
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible to obtain UK SC Security Clearance. This role is restricted to British Nationals (British Eyes Only).
